Mount Nebo is also famous for its mosaics mainly discovered in 1976, a cluster of monastic buildings around the Basilica Church built in the 6th century.   We continue south to Wadi Rum.

"Vast, echoing and God-like" is how T.E. Lawrence once described Wadi Rum. It is the largest and most magnificent of Jordan's desert landscapes.

We’ll leave our bus and take small jeeps into the reserve.  Heading across the desert we’ll arrive at our isolated camp for our first night under the stars.  1st night Camp (H/B)

Day 6
Our first full day photographing the dramatic 2000 year old city of Petra.
The Edomites and later the Nabateans, carved a breathtaking empire out of the solid red sandstone, hidden beyond a canyon.   The  extraordinary architecture and powerful atmosphere of Petra  imprint themselves indelibly on most visitors imaginations.

Petra reveals ruins of Nabateans, Roman and Christian Centre of Worship. The Tomb of Aaron, the Brother of Moses, is also located nearby, so to is Wadi Mousa, " the Spring of Moses".  We have two full days to explore and photograph the ancient remains -  the Treasury, Theatre Tombs, Hall of Justice and Palaces and the Monastry -  set high up in the mountains.  2nd Night Movenpick Hotel Petra (B/B)
